November 2013: Thankful for so much!

I know, it's currently nearing the end of December, and I'm now posting from November...at this rate, I will be so far behind by February...too bad :-) that's good preparation for us all since things will likely take a while to upload once we head overseas next year anyway!

This Thanksgiving was super special to our family as we got to spend time with each of our families. It was such a great time to think on the blessings that have come from God to us over the years.

The first and most important blessing to think upon is Jeremy and I coming to know Christ years ago (Jeremy a few further back than me).  It is important to remember how He has changed us and how He continues to change us through the Holy Spirit.  It is crazy to think back on where each of us has come from and how far we were from God, stuck in our sin, unable to be in a right relationship with Him.  But in His grace, He reached down into our hearts, at separate times in separate locations, under different circumstances, and showed each of us our sin and need for a savior.  We heard the good news that Jesus didn't sin when he lived on this earth.  He stored up righteousness.  He could stand fully right in front of God, whereas neither of us can.  Then He stepped in and bore the punishment for my sin.  Not his own...mine.  He took it on himself and was killed for it.  He conquered death and sin by resurrecting from the dead so that, through faith in Him alone, I can stand in front of God, not because of anything I could ever or will ever do, but only because of Jesus! It's beautiful, amazing, and utterly astonishing.  I screw it up daily, yet God forgives, through Jesus.  It's scandalously rich in grace!
Anywho, through rescuing Jeremy and then myself, God put the two of us together to share this life and walk through the good and bad together. He did so in order for us to have the opportunity to sin against each other over and over again and love as He loves, forgive as He forgives, show grace as He shows grace.  Its meant to be a picture to the world of sacrifice and forgiveness, and love that does not end. So as you look at our pictures of smiles and laughs, please know, this is but a glimpse into our lives.  The window through which I let you look as you view our blog is one of great joy.  And there is great joy here in our hearts.  But don't be fooled, there is always sadness and pain and unhappiness here too.  That's real life.  NO ONE has it together.  Our family is no exception! It is through Jesus we can smile even sometimes! He gives us the ability to persevere through difficulty.  Smiles and joy happen sporadically and I try to capture it on film when I can, but the real life day to day things that happen around here require His strength, His deep abiding joy, His love, His grace.  Enjoy the fun of our pictures :-) but remember not to think that any family is super wonderfully happy all the time....because true joy will only come on the other side of life when we are with our King Jesus! That's something to look forward to! (and what a perfect time in December to look toward Jesus ;-))
I know, I know, enough Samantha, here are some of our favorite pictures of the month :-)

October 2013 :-)

It's mid-November now and I'm finally getting to posting on this blog for October :-) It wasn't on the endless list of things I needed to accomplish over the last few weeks, thus the delay. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity last night to go through the pictures from October because as I did, I was reminded of how fast the time goes by, how little time we have here, and just how easy it is to forget precious things when we fail to document them.  It was a sweet time I had sitting there looking through over 500 pictures and tons of videos almost all them having been lost in the cloud in my brain.  What a blessing it is to live in the digital age where I can pull up a month and look over it again and again until I remember the details of the memories which are lost in the day to day life we live.  :-) Without further delay, here are my favorite pictures from life captured in October 2013. May your heart be blessed as mine was looking over them.
These sweet friends of our got engaged in October :-)
William is sharing his new police car with his new Elmo doll at his birthday dinner.

For William's birthday, my mom and brother got me :-) sand for a sand pool! We had enough extra to give to a friend.

William really likes the sand!

The kids are playing together more now and here is William teaching Kaitlynn how to talk on the phone correctly.

Racing fun.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch and had so much fun!

This year the pumpkins that William could carry were much bigger.

Hey I got it Mom!

We got to go to Butt's Mill Farm with Pop and Gramm thanks to  Uncle J and Aunt Ali giving us passes!

Those eyes get her Daddy every time!

William and I went to the park on William's Birthday and played hard! Thanks Gramm for watching baby sister so we could have birthday fun!

At William's birthday dinner with Jeremy's family

We got to see Gran Ann to celebrate William turning 2!

And William loved seeing Pop and Gramm's party hats!

He got his very own book bag!

Kaitlynn and cousin Tegan. Hoping these sweet girls will have so much fun together over the years.

Cousin Tegan came for a birthday celebration!

Kaitlynn started pushing things across the floor in Oct.

I realized I seldom had the opportunity to push Kaitlynn in the swings at the park this summer....

She really likes them!

Such a big boy, he can do all the things at our favorite park all by himself now.

Two peas in a pod or swing...same thing right?

maybe I should listen when Mommy tells me not to taste the leaves!

Is this how you wear the book bag?

I like things that go vroom.

A remote control car, yay!

More birthday fun with Papa and Yaya! Yaya had so much fun helping Kaitlynn chase William around and around! The kids LOVED it!

Top of the charts for William's birthday celebration...SITTING ON YAYA's LAWNMOWER! He's still talking about it a month later lol

Kaitlynn's 8 month picture with an Old Friend

Can I wear these for halloween?
And can I be a ram and my friend be Elmo?

Teaching his sister to climb onto luggage bags and storage boxes.

A magic carpet ride with Aunt Cindy makes one little girl laugh!

Climbing the mountain and jumping on it together.

Makes my heart smile!

This little girl has 6 teeth now and loves to show them when she smiles :-)

Big boy William's camera smile :-)

My mom got internet on the last day of October and I'm so excited for her! She has an email address and everything so we can keep in touch while we are overseas.  So thankful for technology that will keep us connected while we are away.

Bye Bye for now or as William says "bye bye choo choo" lol
